Google invests heavily in casual game developer Zynga

Google logoThe battle for control over the Internet continues as TechCrunch reports Google has invested more than $100 million in Zynga, creators of Farmville and Mafia Wars.

Apparently Google is planning to launch Google Games in 2011 and is planning on Zynga and its popular games to draw the eyeballs in. This is a partnership that would clearly have far reaching effects. Zynga has been perhaps the biggest beneficiary of the social gaming craze. Google is always looking for ways to increase an already unbelievably large presence on the Internet.
