Sony Online Entertainment has announced that Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy will once again lend their voices to the Joker and Batman, this time in the upcoming MMO DC Universe Online. They’re the frontliners of an all-star voice cast, which includes Adam Baldwin and Gina Torres from Firefly.
Hamill and Conroy first took on the roles as the Clown Prince of Crime and the Caped Crusader in Batman: the Animated Series and have achieved immense popularity as a result. Indeed, it’s hard to think of anyone else voicing the Joker’s hysterically maniacal laugh, or Batman’s deep, brooding voice.
Both men then went on to provide the voices of these two characters in Batman: Arkham Asylum and will return in its sequel. Interestingly enough, a few months ago Hamill stated that Batman: Arkham Asylum II will be the last time he provides the voice for that character.
As mentioned, DC Universe Online will feature voice acting from other stars. Baldwin will be playing as Superman, and Torres will be Wonder Woman. Buffy the Vampire Slayer‘s James Marsters will play as Lex Luthor, and to round out this nerdfest, Battlestar Galactica‘s Michelle Forbes will be Circe.
