The Sly Collection is dated and priced

Re-releasing PS2 titles with a HD shine is turning out to be Sony’s golden goose. It worked for God of War and it’ll probably work out for Sly Cooper as well. Sony announced today (July 21, 2010) that the The Sly Collection will be in stores this Fall for $39.99.

The Sly Collection comprises all three games in the series – Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus, Sly 2: Band of Thieves and Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves. Each game will be re-made in glorious HD. Sony wasn’t clear whether the games will output in 720 or 1080 resolution. But that’s not all my friends. Sony has an extra bonus in store for the collection.

As previously demonstrated at E3 2010, The Sly Collection will also have 3D functionality. I can say from experience the increased depth that 3D provides coupled with cell shaded HD graphics makes for one heck of a visual treat. Special PlayStation Move mini-games are being incorporated into the collection as well. Sony will elaborate on that feature in the near future. Finally, as with the God of War Collection, Trophy support is included in all three games. All you collection fiends out there will be happy to know each game will have its own platinum trophy to earn.
