If you’re at Comic-Con International, you’ll get to test it out firsthand. Square Enix’s booth number is 3829, right near Funimation and not too far from Konami. There are machines there where you can sample some of the digital manga Square Enix will be bringing to North America.
If you aren’t at Comic-Con International, don’t feel too left out. You can sample some free digital manga too! Just head to the Manga X Square Enix Members site and create a Square Enix Members account. Then you can download read the first few chapters of four manga series, Fullmetal Alchemist, Soul Eater, Black Butler and O-Parts Hunter for free. I’m most excited about checking out Black Butler, as I’ve heard great things about Kuroshitsuji.
The Manga X Square Enix Members website also teases visitors with four more manga series Square Enix will be digitally bringing to North America. In the coming months we’ll get to read The Record of a Fallen Vampire, Pandora Hearts, Sumomo, Momomo and Spiral: Bonds of Reasoning. The site states the next update is August 2, 2010 – perhaps some of those manga will have free previews available then.
