Hitman is one videogame franchise that has yet to make the leap onto the current generation of consoles. Rumors about Hitman 5 have been few and far between, but this week has been ripe for rumors. According to Eurogamer, Hitman 5 is currently in production and will be available by Christmas 2011 at the earliest.
The site also conferred with retail sources who also said they expect the next Hitman by late 2011.
Earlier in the week, images which were reported to be concept art for a new Hitman game appeared on Great Graphics. Great Graphics is a design studio that has done work for Kane and Lynch 2, another IO Interactive game. The poster said Square Enix and IO Interactive are attached to develop and publish the game, but IO Interactive said the concept art has nothing to do with a new Hitman game. It was merely done to show what kind of work Great Graphics can be capable of. The concept pictures are posted below.

There are obviously conflicting reports between sources. It is a little suspicious how Great Graphics have taken down the Hitman concept art shortly after the internet got wind to them. Square Enix will announce something once it’s ready. Given the success of past Hitman games, it’s likely that we will see the series return eventually.

this game is fantastic we need it
