If you own Borderlands on Xbox 360 and are looking for an excuse to try out the DLC that’s available, now is the perfect time. For one week only, Xbox Live Gold members can pick up all three downloadable episodes for 50% off the original price. In Microsoft money, each add-on will cost 400 MS points ($5).
Borderlands was a surprise hit of 2009. It’s solid shooting mechanics, cell shaded graphics and emphasis on loot drops made it unlike any other game on this generation of consoles. Since its release The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned, Mad Moxxi’s Underdome Riot and The Secret Armory of General Knoxx have been added as DLC for the game. A fourth add-on was announced by Take-Two back in March. It’s rumored General Knoxx will make a return.
Each episode contains new weapons and locations. The locations are also offer varied gameplay. Zombie Island is a fast-paced undead killing marathon, Underdome features arena matches, and General Knoxx contains the biggest environment from all three episodes. $15 is a steal for all that Borderlands has in store.
If you haven’t purchased Borderlands yet, you can find it from most retail outlets for $40.

Borderlands was on sale for $10 and the DLCs for $3.33 each during the 4th-of-July sale. Sooner or later, they'll be marked down again, maybe even lower.
I quite like Borderlands. My one problem with it is that the levels of the baddies don't adjust properly. If you play through the DLC after your first run-through of the main game, by the time you start your second you're 10 levels or more higher than any of the enemies you're fighting. (Heck, you're at least a couple levels ahead by the end of the first run-through if you do all the side missions.) That's not a lot of fun.
