Drew Brees Madden coverThe most popular football game on Earth will unveil its latest demo on the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live July 27, 2010, showing off a new way to play.

As Gamertell has reported previously, Madden NFL 11‘s big innovation this year is called Gameflow. Using this feature, AI “assistant coaches” will help you select situation-specific plays from the playbook of the team you’re using. EA Sports reps say this feature will cut game times in half, since you won’t be tasked with scrolling through plays you don’t need.

Along with Gameflow, you can set up a Gameplan that presets your favorite plays (money plays, cough cough) into the ones your coaches suggest. There’s a new play-by-play man as well, with frenetic Gus Johnson taking over for the quieter Tom Hammond. Johnson’s wild delivery should fit a videogame perfectly. This year’s Madden demo gives a lot more gameplay than in previous years, with five minute quarters and full commentary.

The demo teams are the New York Jets and Indianapolis Colts, which is probably not by coincidence. The football played by these two AFC rivals starkly contrasts one another. Indy is all about a high-flying offense led by Peyton Manning, while the Jets like to ground and pound relying on their strong defense. This is a good way to show off a number of the game’s features. With the large amount of gameplay EA is throwing out there, it seems they think football fans will be thirsty for more once they play the demo.

It’s almost time, as Madden NFL 11 hits stores on the PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii and PlayStation Portable August 10, 2010. Get ready for some football.
