NetDevil’s Lego Universe MMO looks like a game in which imaginations can run wild, constructing everything from race cars to castles. The Universe has grown too big for just an MMO, so NetDevil is working with Dire Wolf Digital to create a Lego Universe Trading Card Game.
The license grants Dire Wolf rights to produce physical TCG products as well as digital products.
It sounds as if there could be some crossover between the two games. That would follow the model set up by the successful TCG based on World of Warcraft. In that card game, loot cards carry codes that unlock items in the PC game. Those cards quickly rise to be among the most valuable in a set.
The LEGO Universe MMO is scheduled for an October 26, 2010, release, while the TCG is coming in 2011.
