Thanks to EA, iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch owners can be megalomaniacal creators of their own private domains. SimCity Deluxe is now available. Time to shell out $6.99 so you can build a metropolis, then make sure it thrives and survives disasters like alien invasions.
It seems like EA has tried to make SimCity Deluxe as similar to previous PC and handheld incarnations as possible – SimCity 4 in particular. As always, you can jump right in and start creating and managing your own city. There are also seven starter cities and seven scenarios to choose from, in case you want to handle a crisis without seeing your own city get destroyed. Since many disasters can happen, from the classic alien invasion to a new one seasonal events, you may want to practice managing one in a pre-made city before one happens in your custom town.
The new touch screen controls are the newest feature and major selling point. With a touch you can set up your land, laying down roads, pipes, landscaping, zoning areas and such. It should also make it much easier to immediately move to an area where a disaster’s happening so you can start saving the day.
