The Game of the Year edition (note the shiny silver sticker on the image to emphasize this!) of Plants vs. Zombies is now (as of July 28, 2010) available for download. Note that this is the PC version, not the Xbox LIVE Arcade version due out in fall 2010. The GOTY edition retails for $19.99.
If you already own the PC version, you may wonder why bother spending another $20 to get it? Well, I’ll tell ya. The GOTY edition has some new features, including achievements and a “Zombatar”, a character editor that allows you to design your very own zombie or plant. You can test drive the Zombatar on PopCap’s website.
Keep in mind though, that this sparkly new version does not have the dancing zombie that bears no resemblance to any real people, living or dead. Personally, I’ll stick to my vanilla Plants vs. Zombies so I can keep said banned zombie.

I somehow managed to log over 30 hours into that game on Steam. I don't even know how much time I played it on my iPod Touch. Brilliant game.
