Myabe money does grow on trees. Or, at least, virtual money grows on virtual trees.
The diehards at FarmVille Freak report that many players of the farming sim are getting free Farm Cash (FC) for some unknown reason. It has come in increments as small as 5 FC and as high as 22 FC.
Like many browser-based games, Zynga’s FarmVille is free to play but you can pay money to purchase in-game cash to get more items, or items with special effects. Farm Cash is this game’s premium currency, so the suspicion is this a glitch of some sort.
If it were a promotion, it’s likely Zynga would have made some mention that there’s currently a chance to win free Farm Cash.
FarmVille recently had a big update, so it’s a possible any glitch could be a side effect of the changes.

I haven't seen that much of a change but I received 1 Farmville Cash as a mystery gift from a friend and then a few months ago I received one after registering as a fan during some sort of promotion to allow Zynga to email me updates. I think its more of an incentive to have players spread the word about the game. You can also earn FC by doing online surveys listed under the add Farmville Cash or Coins tab.
too bad I didn't get it on July… the surveys are now unavailable either.
