$500 is a lot of money to spend on any device. But we all know by know that most Apple products don’t come cheap. Time and time again Apple has risen the bar in consumer electronics and other companies have to play catch up. But have you ever stopped to think what your purchases say about your personality? One research firm did, and it drew some staggering conclusions. The results were, in short, typical iPad owners are terrible human beings.

You may wonder what this has to do with gaming. The way I see it, Apple has inadvertently created a videogame platform. Digital distribution is at an all time high, and game development on mobile platforms is as lucrative as its ever been. Since Apple is a primary reason for the influx on mobile gaming in the last few years, the iPad qualifies as a gaming platform.

A organization named MyType conducted a survey with 20,000 people asking them what they thought about the iPad. After collecting data March 2010 to May 2010, the research firm has reached a startling conclusion. iPad owners are usually wealthy, business savvy, and not very kind. This survey basically pegs iPad owners as snobs. This alleged mindset of iPad owners branches from the iPad’s high price. Higher paid individuals tend to be more educated, but they are also more engaged in their work. This also makes iPad owner less engaging with actual humans, thus rendering them as disconnected and mean.

Shame on you all.

  1. Guilty!

Well, except for the wealthy bit.

And my education came from a podunk school in the middle of a western Ohio cornfield.

And my hatred for and distrust of businesses and corporations often leads me to vote for the Green Party candidates.

    But other than that, guilty!
