SFX360 and Nintendo’s game events at Wizard World Chicago Comic Con

The Wizard World Chicago Comic Con is being held August 19-22, 2010 in Rosemont, Illinois, and even though it’s a comic convention there’ll be a lot for gamers to see. Nintendo and SFX360 are both going to have booths at the con, and SFX360 will be holding tournaments throughout the convention.

Let’s take a look at what’s going on all four days:

Thursday, August 19, 2010

• The Nintendo booth (#106) will have Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies (DS) and Metroid: Other M (DS) playable Thursday through Sunday. Also, the Dragon Quest IX downloadable map Mortamor will be available for anyone with a DS and copy of the game to acquire all four days.

Friday, August 20, 2010

• A Halo 3 tournament will be held at SFX360′s The Gamers Haven booth. Check the booth at the convention for times and entry details.
• A Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare tournament will be held at SFX360′s The Gamers Haven booth. Check the booth at the convention for times and entry details.
• Attendees can face off against professional gamer Prod1gyx in DJ Hero, Guitar Hero, Halo 3 or Super Street Fighter IV. Check the SFX 360 booth for times and details.
• The SFX 360 booth will have freeplay gaming Friday through Sunday. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Crackdown 2, DJ Hero, Gears of War 2, Guitar Hero, Halo 3, Kane & Lynch 2, Madden 11, Mafia II, Red Dead Redemption, Singularity, Super Street Fighter IV and Transformers will be available to play.
• Stop by Nintendo’s booth for a Mortamor Dragon Quest IX map and the chance to play Dragon Quest IX (DS) and Metroid: Other M (Wii).

• A Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare tournament will be held at SFX360′s The Gamers Haven booth. Check the booth at the convention for times and entry details.
• Attendees can face off against professional gamer Prod1gyx in DJ Hero, Guitar Hero, Halo 3 or Super Street Fighter IV. Check the SFX 360 booth for times and details.
• A “Bringing Gamers Face to Face” panel with Prod1gyx, Lady J, Pallidian, Kona and Dephin will be hosted by SFX360.
• Stop by Nintendo’s booth for a Mortamor Dragon Quest IX map and the chance to play Dragon Quest IX (DS) and Metroid: Other M (Wii).
• The SFX360 Gamers Haven booth will have freeplay games available for anyone who wants to stop by and play free video games for fun.
• A Mafia II Masquerade Ball will be held at 10p at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare Rosemont Ballroom at 9300 Bryn Mawr Avenue. It’s open to Wizard World Chicago Comic Con attendees who are 18 years old or older. Dress up as a mafia character and attend. There will be a DJ, kiosks where you can play Mafia II and drinks for attendees who are 21 and older.

• Last chance to visit Nintendo’s and get a Mortamor Dragon Quest IX map and play Dragon Quest IX and Metroid: Other M!
• Likewise, this is attendees’ last chance to visit SFX360′s Gamers Haven booth to play free video games for fun.

If you want to go, it’s best to buy tickets online. One day admission is $30 and a four day admission is $60 if you wait and buy your tickets. If you buy online, the one day tickets are $25 and the four day tickets are $50. Children get for free, as long as they’re with an adult who paid to get in. But, only two children can get in for free with one paying adult.
