Warren Spector to Disney: “Gimme the Ducks!”

Warren Spector and his team is hard at work putting the finishing touches on Epic Mickey. Before starting this project, Disney made it clear it wanted to give Mickey an extended break before bringing the character back into the gaming space. The company felt Epic Mickey was the perfect game to showcase Mickey’s return. Warren Spector is obviously proud of his project, but there are still characters he wants Disney to grant him access to. Spector wants the ducks.

In an interview with Industry Gamers, Spector revealed he wants to work on a game starring Scrooge McDuck, Donald, Huey, Dewey and Louie.

“A day does not go by where I don’t tell somebody at Disney: “Gimme the ducks. Gimme the ducks!” Spector said. “So yeah, I would love to do a duck game. Uncle Scrooge is the coolest character, you know? He was Indiana Jones before Steven Spielberg was a gleam in his mother’s eye, you know? I mean, come on. He’s a great character.”

These characters have been seen in Kingdom Hearts, but it’s been years since a game that revolved around the ducks. Audiences in their 20′s have a soft spot in their hearts for the ducks from popular cartoons such as DuckTales and Quack Pack.

Perhaps if Epic Mickey is successful Disney will be more inclined to grant Spector’s request.
