The World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Collector’s Edition sounds like it will definitely bring more WOW to your life. Aside from the awesome Lil’ Deathwing pet you get for your character, you’ll also get an Art of the Cataclysm artbook, featuring art and designs from the Cataclysm expansion, a making-of DVD, a 10 track Cataclysm soundtrack, a Deathwing mouse pad and a World of Warcraft Trading Card Game set that includes a Wrathgate starter set and four exclusive hero and extended-art cards. Yeah, all that extra stuff should make the $80 price tag worth it.
Unfortunately, Activision Blizzard still hasn’t set a release date for the World of Warcraft: Cataclysm expansion. It could be out in Q3 2010, it could be out in Q4 2010. The closed beta testing did begin in June 2010, and Blizzard has been promising a 2010 release, so there’s no reason to abandon hope just yet. It’s only August, after all!
Cataclysm will add a substantial amount of new content to the Windows and Mac MMORPG. The Goblin and Worgen races will be added into the game, there’ll be new towns, areas and dungeons to explore. There’ll be about 3,000 new quests to undertake, new equipment and new raids. Character customization will also expand, as there’ll be a mastery stat, an archaeology skill, an adjusted talent system and a level 85 level cap.
