Let’s take a peak at the Gamescom 2010 Heroes of Might & Magic VI trailer. There’s no gameplay footage, but it still looks really good!
Though it’s Might & Magic VI, the events in it actually take place prior to Might & Magic V. The Griffin Dukes dynasty will wage campaigns against an Archangel general from the Elder Wars who wants to regain his power, get revenge and essentially start a whole new war. You must manage cities to make them successful, gather necessary resources for battle, prepare your troups and keep the Archangel from accomplishing his goals in each of the Griffins’ campaigns.
While a very nice announcement, it isn’t entirely unexpected. The last Heroes of Might & Magic game, Might & Magic V, came out in May, 2006. It received expansion packs in November, 2006 and October, 2007. And Heroes of Might & Magic IV came out in 2002. So I think most Might & Magic fans were anticipating a Might & Magic VI announcement in 2010 or 2011.
