If you’re one the people who want to see all the Carmine brothers wiped off the map, there’s a couple ways for you to cast a vote. The first way is to buy an Avatar shirt from the Xbox Live Avatar Marketplace. Simply choose the shirt that says either “Save Carmine” or “Carmine Must Die” for your vote to be counted. Each Avatar shirt costs 80 MS points ($1). The second way to is buy a real-life shirt from either NECA or Amazon. Each shirt costs $20 each.
Don’t worry, Microsoft and Epic aren’t pocketing your hard earned money for such a trivial cause. All proceeds that are made from the sale of the shirts will be donated to Child’s Play, a charity favored by gamers.
Here’s a little back history just in case you have no idea what this is all about. The Gears of War series has an ongoing gag with the Carmine brothers. In each Gears of War game, a Carmine is killed. It’s not very obvious to someone who doesn’t pay attention to the story, but the Carmine brothers have carved out a soft spot in the hearts of fans. It’s similar to the Biggs and Wedge appearances in earlier Final Fantasy games.
Gears of War 3 will be released on April 5, 2011 on Xbox 360.
