In co-op, you and a friend play as two robots who are being tested by GLaDOS. GLaDOS is convinced that humans are longer necessary and wants to prove (through science) that robots can take the place of humans on every level. She creates two robots with that specific goal in mind. Ironically, GLaDOS requires a human to be a part of the tests for her results to have any real meaning. Since there are no humans around, she makes the two robots search Aperture Science for human relics. These relics will theoretically make the robots more human and therefore GLaDos’s experiment will be successful.
Portal 2′s co-op is like a different game altogether. Puzzles in this mode can only be solved by using two sets of portals. It is impossible for one player to solve the chambers alone.
Valve will delve even deeper into Portal 2′s co-op campaign at PAX which takes place September 3-5, 2010. Portal 2 will be released on February 9, 2011 for PS3, Xbox 360, PC and Mac.
