Tesco logoUnited Kingdom gamers who live near Tesco stores can now trade in games for store credit.

MCV reports that at least 60 Tesco stores are taking game trades and offering the used games for resale. The chain’s newspaper advertisements are touting the program as well and noting the trade credit applies to anything in the store.

I’m curious to see if any US supermarkets roll out a trade-in program of this magnitude. Retailers including Best Buy and Walmart have experimented with trade-ins a little but haven’t gone national.

You can be sure supermarket executives all over the world are checking to see if Tesco gets a business boost from this program. Of course with digital downloads becoming a bigger part of the landscape, it may be prudent for them to wait.

To check if a Tesco near you is taking trade-ins, you can use the chain’s handy-dandy store locator.
