Shank title screen Shank was released today (August 24, 2010) on the PlayStation Network. It’s a 2D side scrolling fighting game that takes great pride in killing enemies in gruesome ways. I’m playing the game right now and am probably about half way through the single-player campaign. Shank also features a co-op campaign that details Shank’s backstory. This seems like a satisfactory amount of content for a $15 game, but more Shank appears to planned.

The picture above shows Shank’s title screen. Notice the “Download Content” option at the bottom. If you select it, you’re taken to Shank’s page on the PlayStation Store. There’s nothing there besides the main game, but it does suggest Klei Entertainment isn’t done providing us with ways to eviscerate goons with sharp objects.

Shank already contains unlockable costumes that are acquired by completing certain tasks. We’ve started a list detailing what must be done to unlock them.

We’ll ask Klei what its future plans are for Shank. If we hear back, we’ll be sure the let you know.

Update: We’ve received the following response Klei Entertainment’s public relations firm: “Good catch, but we don’t currently have any concrete plans for DLC.”
