Eurogamer got the word from Xbox Live Studios head Jerry Johnson at the Edinburgh Interactive Festival.
Xbox Live is upgrading the codec and audio structures pertaining to voice communication, which Johnson said will make voice chat between players sound much smoother.
Maybe I’ve become accustomed to my crackly headset but I haven’t really had that many problems communicating through the current system. When I have, it’s usually because I need to adjust my mic or buy a new one because I accidentally left it where someone could step or sit on it.
