Rockstar Games had a few downloadable content packs for Red Dead Redemption planned for release this year. The Outlaws to the End Co-op Mission Pack was offered for free and gave us the idea of the kind of experience we were in for when Rockstar started charging for DLC. Earlier today the Liar’s & Cheats Mission Pack was given a release date of September 21, 2010 and includes a ton of content. However the most anticipated release for RDR has to be the Undead Nightmare Pack. It will be available this fall for $9.99 or 800 MS points.
The Undead Nightmare Pack is a new campaign that has John Marston searching for the cure to a zombie outbreak. Unlike the previous DLC, this campaign will primarily be a single-player experience. There will also be additional multiplayer modes included, but Rockstar is holding off information on that for a later date.
Besides gunning down zombies, the Undead Nightmare Pack will also include mythical creatures, zombie animals, new weapons, a new location and new gameplay mechanics. We can only guess what those new mechanics will entail.
While we wait for zombies to attack the wild west, Rockstar will be giving us even more free content. In the next few weeks the Hunting and Trading Outfits Pack will be released. This pack unlocks the Savvy Merchant and Expert Hunter Outfits and will “enable everyone online to see the Red Dead Revolver multiplayer character skins being used by those who have purchased any of the DLC.”
