Achievement Unlocked Gamertell

We spend all day at Gamertell telling you about the latest gaming news while sprinkling in our opinions on some very interesting topics. I thought it would be a nice change to share my gaming credentials with you all. Today you’re going to see my Xbox Live Gamer Card and PSN ID Card as they (more or less) currently stand. Feel free to add me on PSN or Xbox Live if and share your own profiles if you want.

PSN ID Card Here you can see my PlayStation Network ID Card. It says I only have 593 Trophies spread out across 48 games. The network is not registering the Trophies I’ve recently earned from Shank. I bought my 60GB PS3 in the summer of 2007. Back then there wasn’t the slightest hint of Trophy support. The Xbox 360 was claiming third-party game sales partly due to Achievements. When Sony began including Trophies into games, the playing field became more level. That also means there are a lot of older games that I don’t have Trophies for. The first game I ever beat on PS3 was The Darkness. You would never know that by looking at my Trophy list. This, along with other games that don’t support retroactive Trophy support make for one misleading PSN ID.

Trophies are divided into Bronze, Silver and Platinum tiers. As you can see, I have no Platinum Trophies. Those are reserved for people who get every single Trophy a full retail title has to offer. I managed to come very close to getting 100% on inFamous and Assassin’s Creed 2. If you want a game where getting 100% is pretty easy, pick up Linger in Shadows on PSN. You won’t get a Platinum, but it’s a start.

Xbox Live Gamer Card Next up is my Xbox Live Gamer Card. I admit I’m a little ashamed of this one. When I see people with tens of thousands of gamer points, I can’t help but feel I’m doing something wrong. I bought the Xbox 360 during the fall of 2007. There have been periods where I would play my Xbox more than the PS3 and vice versa. I never really been crazy for Achievements either. I love it when I get them, but I never went out of my way to get 1000 points in a single game. One of my proudest Achievements is beating Mass Effect 2 on the Insanity difficulty and earning 47 of 54 Achievements. It’s one of the few games I’ve played through twice.

That’s most of my gaming career this generation. Groundbreaking? Of course not. Fun? Absolutely.
