Best Buy LogoThat used game program must already be working for Best Buy, as it has announced it is expanding the operation. Earlier in August, 2010, Best Buy stated that almost 600 stores would allow customers to bring used video games to the store service desk to see if it could be traded in for a Best Buy gift card. Now the company says all 1,089 stores will accept used games by October, 2010.

If you’re curious about trading in immediately, then head to Best Buy’s site. You can check the store locator to see if a Best Buy near you will accept your game. You can also use the estimator to get an idea of how much you’ll get for your game or console. Finally, if you don’t have a store near you where you can get rid of your unwanted items, you can print up a prepaid shipping label and mail your used items in to Best Buy.

The final tidbit is that Best Buy will follow GameStop’s lead and sell used games in stores. We don’t know when, but I’d suggest stopping by your local Best Buy in November and December. Give the company some time to process games it’ll probably be receiving between now and October.
