Crackdown 2If you’re planning to spend some of your three-day weekend in Pacific City, don’t purchase the Toy Box premium DLC right now. It will be more trouble than the crooks and freaks infesting Pacific City.

Crackdown 2′s toys are broken, as the game’s Toy Box premium DLC has been causing players some issues. Kotaku reports the game is freezing up for users who downloaded the new add-on. This is apparently just affecting the paid DLC, so you can go ahead and download the free update when you’re prompted to do so.

Right now the only fix is to delete the Toy Box files from your hard drive and even that reportedly has not worked for everyone. The free update part of the Toy Box contains two game modes. The Key to The City mode popularized by the first Crackdown is back, and there’s a Vehicle Tag multiplayer game. Dedicated agents who have raised all their skills to Level 6 get a new ability called Thruster.

Those who paid 560 Microsoft Points ($7) get extra equipment, vehicles and 10 new achievements. Those agents can also look stylish in eight different colors of uniform and get some Avatar awards as well. Crackdown 2 is not a perfect game, but it’s still pretty fun to bring swift justice to the mean streets of Pacific City. We’ll keep you posted on the incoming fixes for the Toy Box DLC.
