Dragon Age 2 female Hawke

Dragon Age II has moved in a different direction compared to Dragon Age: Origins. One of the biggest changes is the lack of customization for the lead character’s physical appearance. So far we’ve seen the male version of Hawke. At PAX 2010, BioWare showed what the female Hawke will look like.

The picture above is who you will be playing as should you choose to be a female. However the background of Hawke will remain the same. You will still be able to change Hawke’s class to your liking. I have to applaud BioWare for the female Hawke’s character model. She looks like a strong leader, but still retains a subtle attractiveness.

Dragon Age II will follow a similar story progression similar to Mass Effect 2. You will have access to a dialogue wheel to express what particular emotion you want Hawke to have at that time. Hawke will also have many speaking lines just like Mass Effect’s Commander Shepard. Also like Mass Effect, data from Dragon Age: Origins can be imported to Dragon Age II. Key elements from Origins will determine plot points such as who slayed the archdemon and who leads Ferelden. BioWare is working on a way to let PC players import their saved data to the console version of Dragon Age II and vice versa.

Dragon Age II will be released on March 8, 2011 for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
