The Michael Jackson: The Experience game is going to get a little more authentic. If you pick up the Wii version on November 23, 2010, you get a glove with it. Yes, a glove. A white, one-size-fits-all, covered in rhinestones glove. Talk about a unique bonus!
The glove will come packed in every $49.99 copy of Michael Jackson: The Experience, so you don’t need to preorder to get this obvious piece of gaming history. You do, however, need to make sure you pick up the correct version. The DS and PSP incarnation, launching on the same day, don’t come with the illustrious glove. People will see you on the street, hearing Michael Jackson’s music coming from your handheld, note the lack of glove and know your shame. If they own a copy of the Wii version, they may even run up and show off your glove to make you jealous.
The included glove is a fairly cheap replica of the real thing, but I doubt that matters to anyone. It’s close enough to look right. Here’s a picture of . It’ll work if you decide you want to dress up as Michael Jackson next Halloween, and don’t want to pay to bedazzle one of those white dollar store stretch gloves.
Younger gamers may be wondering why a glove would be included with a video game. Well, Michael Jackson wore a white, rhinestone-covered glove when he performed “Billie Jean.” “Billie Jean” is one of the songs included in the game. So there you go. Personally, I’d have preferred a faux leather jacket, like the one he wore in “Thriller,” but we have to to take what we can get.
And, just in case you’re curious, here’s the latest track listing for Michael Jackson: The Experience:
- “Beat It”
- “Billie Jean”
- “Black of White”
- “Dirty Diana”
- “Earth Song”
- “Rock with You”
- “Smooth Criminal”
- “Speed Demon”
- “The Girl is Mine”
- “They Don’t Care About Us”
- “Who Is It”
- “Workin’ Day and Night”
What, no “Man in the Mirror”? No “Remember the Time”? And where’s “Ben”? Outrageous!
