The Xbox Live Arcade “Game Feast” is over, so pickings are a bit slimmer this week.
Fans of online play for card games and old-school fighters will still find some things to make them smile, however. It’s Blue Eyes-White Dragon time in the Xbox Live Marketplace. Yu-Gi-Oh’s 5D Decade Duels rips cards from the popular animated TV series and supports online play. You can soup up your decks by purchasing cards from the marketplace. Yu-Gi-Oh is one of the world’s best-selling collectible card games and Decade Duels allows you to learn the ins and outs for just 800 Microsoft Points. ($10)
King of Fighters 2002: Unlimited Match gives us a throwback to the times when arcade fighters ruled the roost. It includes KOF favorites such as Terry and Andy Bogard as well as Mai Shiranui. Each character has a “MAX 2″ move, which is a special move that you can only use when they have 1/4 or less life remaining. It’s strategic punching and kicking to the head, folks. KOF features a ridiculous 66 fighters to pound face with, so it could satisfy your arcade cravings for quite a while.
Controversial modern-day shooter Medal of Honor gets its first add-ons this week. The Hot Zone Map Pack features a new co-op mode called, appropriately enough, Hot Zone. It’s comparable to the “King of the Hill” modes in other shooters that require holding a strategic point for as long as you can. Hot Zone is 800 MP. The Clean Sweep Map Pack is a free download for anyone who has MOH’s “online pass” feature enabled. It adds the Bagram Hangar and Khyber Caves maps, as well as an elimination game. Hoo-Rah.
The Deal of the Week is a sale on pet-themed items. Snoopy:Flying Ace and Risk:Factions (it’s on the list because one of the factions is cats) are both 400 MP($5). Blade Kitten is 600 MP and the Pug Dog or Black Cat Avatar Pets are 160 MP.
