Two versions of Disgaea 4 are going to be released in Japan, a ¥7,140 (~$85) standard version and a ¥9,975 (~$120) limited edition. So why the ¥2,835 (~$35) difference? Fuuka!
Well, not just Fuuka, though she does play a part. The limited version of Disgaea 4 comes with a soundtrack and a Nendoroid Puchi of the Prinny-cap wearing character who joins Valbatoze on his adventures in the game. The Fuuka Nendoroid is one of the Puchi versions, which means it will be smaller than the standard 4″ Nendoroid figurine. (Probably around or under 2″ tall.) She also comes with a removable backpack and Prinny hat, but it looks like she only has one facial expression.
No word yet on what NIS America plans to make the Disgaea 4 North American release special. If you really love that nendroid and have a lot of spare change lying around, you could always import the Japanese version of Disgaea 4. The PS3 is region-free, after all. Course, if you wait a few months, you can always get the English version. The Japanese one comes out February 24, 2011 and the North American one should be out in the spring.
If NIS America is taking suggestions, I think they should consider making the Fuuka style Prinny hat the preorder or limited edition bonus of Disgaea 4. NIS is going to be selling them at Comiket 79, so it’s not like they don’t exist.
