Pocket-lint’s sources said the PlayStation phone will not be unveiled next month at CES 2011. Instead, Sony Ericsson will show off the phone for the first time at its press conference during Mobile World Congress in February. Approximately two months later in April, the PlayStation phone will reportedly go on sale in the United Kingdom.
The PlayStation phone is believed to be an Android powered device that runs on Android 2.3, also known as Gingerbread. In addition to having all the mobile goodness smartphones tend to have, the PlayStation phone could have its own section in the Android Marketplace. It also has a touchpad, d-pad and the iconic PlayStation face buttons.
The reported specs for the PlayStation phone aren’t necessarily out of this world. The phone has a 1Ghz processor, 1GB of RAM and a screen that is sized between 3.7 and 4.1 inches.
