The Sims 3 for the 3DS is going to be a lot like the DS and console versions of the game. You create sims and guide them through their lives. There are different areas to visit and Karma Powers to use once you build up Karma Points by completing objectives and fulfilling needs.
There will be some 3DS exclusive features added to this particular version of The Sims 3. Which only makes sense, since if there weren’t people would probably just go for the DS version. Players can take their picture with the 3DS camera to make sims that look like them. The Karma Powers will compliment the special DS controls. An example EA provides was that shaking the 3DS could unleash an earthquake. Players will also be able to exchange sims with other The Sims 3 3DS owners thanks to the StreetPass feature.
While The Sims 3 3DS is a nice thought, I don’t think it will do well. The 3DS is backwards compatible with the DS and it seems like The Sims 3 DS is pretty similar. Plus, The Sims 3 DS will probably be cheaper than the 3DS version, especially if you get it used.
