Dead Space 2 is now available for the PS3 and Xbox 360, so I’m sure there’s only one thing on your mind today. No, it’s not the thought of going out to actually buy the game! It’s Dead Space 2 DLC! Even though there’s a really good chance that you haven’t even picked up your copy from the store, EA and Visceral Games want to let you know that you’ll still have more to do in the game after you beat it, thanks to Severed.
Severed will add two more chapters to Dead Space 2. These chapters won’t offer more unnerving experiences of Isaac Clarke though. Instead, they’ll bring back two familiar faces from Dead Space: Extraction. Players will get to play as Gabe Weller, Sprawl Security Guard, and try and get him and Lexine Murdock to a safe-haven free from Necromorphs. Oh, silly Gabe and Lexine – there’s no way to escape from Necromorphs!
The Severed DLC won’t be console specific, so PS3 and Xbox 360 owners will both be able to find it on their respective consoles’ online stores. A release date and price weren’t mentioned for this particular add-on, which is okay. I mean, most people are going to be pretty busy with what’s on the disc for now. Since Severed hasn’t been hinted as being part of either the PlayStation Store or Xbox Live Arcade update for this week, I think it’s safe to consider a February 2011 release date.
