Xbox live weekly update

Who loves you, baby? Xbox Live does and it’s showing you the love with some shiny new titles.

Tim Schafer’s Double Fine Productions continues bringing the unique game offerings. Stacking is a puzzler starring living Russian stacking dolls. Yes, I had to pause and wrap my brain around that too. The protagonist is Charlie Blackmore, the world’s smallest stacking doll. He has to rescue his doll family from the mysterious Baron by – you guessed it, stacking. This one is 1,200 Microsoft Points ($15.)

If you feel the need to get your motor running, TNT Racers may be what you’re looking for. The “TNT” here stands for Tracks and Tricks. It has a “Shadow Race” feature that keeps every player in the running. As is required by every arcade racer since Mario Kart, there are powerups to improve your chances and hurt your opponents. This one is drawing comparisons to Micro Machines, for folks that remember that racer based on the tiny toy cars. TNT Racers is 800 Microsoft Points. ($10)

There’s more racing with a demo for nail’d, which features high altitude tracks and a soundtrack with Slipknot and Rise Against. It’s free to kick the tires on this racer and see if it deserves a spot in your Xbox 360 garage.

If you have an itchy trigger finger, the Deal of the Week is all about you. Arcade shooters are on sale. Duke Nukem Manhattan Project, Space Invaders Infinity Gene, Geometry Wars 2, Serious Sam HD: The First Encounter, Serious Sam HD The Second Encounter, and Galaga Legions are all just 400 MP. That’s a simple five-spot, Gamertell faithful.

There you have it, readers. You can stack, shoot and Shadow Race this week in the marketplace. And don’t forget that the 2nd Annual Xbox Live House Party kicks off February 16 with the return of Konami’s Contra series in Hard Corps:Uprising. Other House Party titles are Bejeweled Blitz, Beyond Good and Evil HD, Torchlight and Full House Poker.
