The PlayStation Network has given its humble users the power to decide which games were the best of 2010. Are we a little too far into 2011 to pick out the best games of 2010? I certainly think so, but you can’t argue with the benefits we’ll receive from picking winners. Voting for the PlayStation Network Gamers’ Choice Awards will start on February 22 and will last until March 1.
Sony has four categories in the PSN Gamers’ Choice Awards – Best PS3 Downloadable Game, Best PSP Downloadable Game, Best PS3/PSP mini and Best PSN Exclusive Game. Voting is done by downloading a theme that corresponds to each nominee in each category. You can only vote one time in each category, so there’s no way to virtually stuff the ballot box. Once all the votes have been tallied, the four winning games will get a 30% discount that will be available to everyone within the PSN community. PlayStation Plus subscribers have the added benefit of receiving a 50% discount on the winning games.
Nominees for each category include Costume Quest, God of War: Ghost of Sparta, Monsters (Probably) Stole My Princess and Joe Danger.
Chances are there will be a promo in the PlayStation Store next week. For now, keep you eyes open for today’s PlayStation Store update, which should be going live at any moment.
