The PSP is a lot cheaper now. Sony has decided to go at its inventory and just chop $40 off the prices of existing systems. If you head into a store, online or real, you should be able to pick up a PSP-3000 alone for $129.99 or one of those nice PSP-3000 starter bundles for $159.99. Maybe you should look and see if any of those Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep or God of War: Ghost of Sparta PSP Entertainment Packs are still sitting on store shelves.
To coincide with the price drop, Sony has also expanded its PSP Greatest Hits and Favorites lines. There are now seven new favorites and six new Favorites, though in both cases some of the games Sony is saying are recent additions actually had their prices dropped months ago. If you have $19.99 to spare, you can pick up Assassin’s Creed: Bloodlines, Dissidia: Final Fantasy, LittleBigPlanet, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters, Resistance: Retribution or Toy Story 3. I’d avoid Dissidia though, since Dissidia 012 has the first game built in. If you’ve got $9.99, you can grab Crisis Core: FFVII, Daxter, Monster Hunter Freedom: Unite, Killzone: Liberation, SOCOM US Navy SEALs: Fire Team Bravo or Tomb Raider Anniversary.
Don’t worry if you get home and forget about this price drop. Sony’s planning to remind you. It’s rolling out the ads, so you should start seeing commercials on TV or maybe even an ad alongside your favorite gaming website.
