If you happen to live in or near the Los Angeles area and would like to help the earthquake/tsunami victims in Japan while having a fun time, here’s your chance. Website We ♥ Japan is holding an art auction in which 100% of the proceeds will go to the Japan NGO Earthquake Relief and Recovery Fund. But you won’t get to just see or buy cool artwork — you’ll also get to meet a bevy of voice actors from your favorite anime and video games.

Appearances from voice actors will include DC Douglas (Resident Evil and Mass Effect 2), Sam Riegel (Fallout: New Vegas), Liam O’brien (Naruto, Dissidia 012: Final Fantasy, X-men: Destiny), Mary Elizabeth McGlynn (Naruto, Ghost in the Shell, Silent Hill), and much more. There will be food trucks on hand and free drinks served (yay!), courtesy of Arta Tequila and Comikaze Expo.

And oh, hey! Cosplay is encouraged!

As mentioned, it’s actually an art auction so you’ll also get to meet a bunch of artists and perhaps even bid a piece of their work. A silent art auction will be taking place until 10:30 PM.

If you don’t live in the LA area or can’t make it but would still like to donate, you can do so by visiting the NYCharities website.

The event will take place tonight (March 17, 2011) at Meltdown Comics and run from 8-11 PM. The address is 7522 Sunset Blvd., Los Angeles, CA. 90046. Their phone number is 323-851-7223.
