NinjaAs April Fools’ Day courses on, the jokes keeping popping up all over the web. Ninja Theory Limited is only one of many who got in on the joke. Now, like many gaming companies Ninja Theory Limited is always on the lookout for fresh faces to work for them. But last time I checked, “Professional Ninja” is not a position you’d normally see available at a gaming company.

Based in Cambridge, UK, Ninja Theory Limited is best known for the games Heavenly Sword and Enslaved: Odyssey to the West. They’re currently developing a reboot of the Devil May Cry series. Therefore, it’s not too surprising to hear that they’re hiring. Recent available positions include Mid- and Senior Designers and Interns for their Cinematics Intern Program. Today a new position cropped up on their website for a Ninja.

Here’s the full job description.

We are currently looking for a talented and deadly Ninja (actual Ninja) to perform real Ninja activities in and around the studio. Responsibilities will include “taking out” the bad guys, espionage and sabotage.

To join as a Ninja you will need:

  • In depth knowledge of the Ninja function
  • Experience in using a range of bladed and non-bladed weapons
  • Must demonstrate an extraordinary level of stealth
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in high level assassination work

And whilst not essential it would be advantageous to see:

  • A full, clean Ninja licence
  • The ability to appear invisible / teleport
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office

To apply please send you CV and covering letter to quoting reference: NT/APR/FO/01. The closing date for applications is April 1st 2011

Well now, I am so glad that I recently updated my Ninja license! It gives me an advantage over other would-be applicants. I’m quite curious though, as to what kind of stock options they have available for this position.

I think the best part of this job description is that a “good working knowledge of Microsoft Office” is a bonus. Because after all, you have to know Excel to keep track of all the assassinations you’ve done and what weapons you used.
