Nintendo Wii Shop Channel, DSi Shop and eShop now update on Thursdays

I bet you stopped over at Gamertell today, expecting to see the usual Nintendo Downloads update greeting you. Well, things have changed a little. It turns out Nintendo is shifting the day on which it is updating all of its digital shops, due to the 3DS.

See, Nintendo had already confirmed that the 3DS eShop would always update on Thursdays. That didn’t mesh well with the existing Wii Shop Channel and DSi Shop update schedule, since both of those always update on Monday. So instead of shifting the eShop update, Nintendo shifted the Wii Shop Channel and DSi Shop updates. So all three systems digital shops now update on Thursday.

Hence the Nintendo Downloads update change! If you want to know what downloadable Wii, DSi and 3DS games you can get, be sure to stop by Gamertell every Thursday morning, starting June 16, 2011. Unfortunately, we have no hint as to what games we’ll see this week. Perhaps Capcom’s Mega Man Legends 3: Prototype will be added to the 3DS shop!
