When we first heard about the gaming lineup for 2011, we were amazed about how many potentially great games would be coming out at once. But now some of those games have been delayed. Twisted Metal is the latest big 2011 game to miss its scheduled release date.
The news was broken on the PlayStation Blog by David Jaffe. The new release date for Twisted Metal is early 2012. The team at Eat Sleep Play need the extra time to fine tune and polish Twisted Metal so it can be the best product possible. Jaffe assures the PlayStation community that Twisted Metal would not be a bad game if it were to ship tomorrow.
Twisted Metal will still be playable in the United States during PAX Prime in late August.
News like this can be disappointing, but think about all the extra time you’ll get to spend on other triple-A games that haven’t been delayed into next year. I’m talking about Uncharted 3, Resistance 3 and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim to name a few. Perhaps it’s best for Twisted Metal to move away from an otherwise very competitive gaming season.
