The PS3 version of ModNation Racers was called exactly that, ModNation Racers. The PSP version also went by the exact same moniker. Sony and SCEA San Diego Studios don’t want that for the PS Vita version. No, it’s time for some variety. And to help kick things off and perhaps find a name, they’re looking to the fans.
The PlayStation Blog‘s latest ModNation Racers update made the announcement yesterday. ModNation Racers on the Vita needs a name, and the developers want to see what ordinary people can come up with. If you have an idea, you just sign into your PlayStation Network account and post it in the comments section of that post. If it’s good enough, it might just be considered for the Vita game’s name.
This isn’t a contest though, so don’t expect anything special if your ModNation Racers Vita name idea is chosen. If anything, you’ll just get the pride and satisfaction of knowing every Vita owner will be playing a game that you named. That, and that you injected a little bit of creativity into this release, because you know we all didn’t want to see the Vita version also just be called ModNation Racers.
The same entry also discusses a few of the ModNation Racers Vita special features, like the touch screen and pad controls, control scheme that utilizes the handheld’s dual analog sticks and PS3 user creation compatibility. Which all already know about thanks to Sony’s E3 2011 reveal of the game, but it’s nice to get a brief refresher.
