Shepard Iron Man

A long time ago, I posted this picture of my Shepard from Mass Effect 2. His name is Ace Shepard, he talked down Wrex, killed the Rachni Queen and rewrote the Geth heretics. He has had quite a journey and even lost a teammate along the way. When Mass Effect 3 concludes, the journey of Ace Shepard (and your Shepard) will be over.

BioWare CEO Bioware Dr. Ray Mazuka told PC Gamer the legend of Shepard will conclude with Mass Effect 3. He will not be making a return in future Mass Effect stories.

“We have ambitious plans to continue this franchise going forward,” Mazuka said. “Mass Effect 3 is simultaneously a couple of different things; a thrilling and epic conclusion to the trilogy as we promised our fans we’d provide for Commander Shepard, but it’s also a brand new beginning – it’s an entry point for new fans and it’s also a brand new beginning.”

I can live with that. Shepard has been through enough. It’s time for him to settle down, raise a family and take better care of his space hamster.

The Mass Effect universe is large enough to carry on without Shepard. I’m sure the Illusive Man has a story that’s fit for some kind of gameplay.
