NASA MMO funding off to a good start

You may not have known this, but there is an official NASA MMO in the works. It’s still very early in development and is being funded through a Kickstarter campaign. Kickstarter is a site in which individuals can request financial donations that will go towards the project they’re trying to get off the ground. In regards to Astronaut: Moon, Mars and Beyond, over 500 backers have donated over $30,200 to the project.

This Unreal Engine-powered game will put players in the space boots of an astronaut in 2035 who is stationed at the Arthur C. Clarke Astronaut Academy Station. The station is described as “Hogwarts in space.” While there, the player will take on a threat to civilization. The game will take players to locations such as Mars, the asteroid belt and other locations in the solar system.

If the Kickstarter campaign earns $50,000 or more, a beta will be created for the PC and iPad. The game is also planned for the iPhone and select consoles.
