The Amazing Spider-Man is going to be tied into the upcoming film roboot. Although the game hasn’t officially been announced, IGN took a picture of a poster that’s proudly hanging at New York Comic-Con. We expect to hear more about this game soon. Hopefully we’ll get more details on this game than Activision gave us about the upcoming Men in Black title.
We’re approaching The Amazing Spider-Man with skeptical minds. Edge of Time was criticized for not allowing Spider-Man be Spider-Man. The game takes place indoors and doesn’t give Spidey the wide open space he needs to shine. The Amazing Spider-Man also is carrying the curse that many games based on movies carry. It must be released to coincide with the movie, so development time is automatically hindered. Considering less than a year would have passed between Edge of Time and The Amazing Spider-Man, the game could end up being rushed.
