Square Enix got some potential Vita owners worried when the original box art for Army Corps of Hell had a label that said a PS Vita memory card was required to play the game. Square Enix quickly swapped out the art and said Army Corps of Hell would not need a memory card, but there was a foreboding since of expensive dread left in its wake. Kotaku Japan now has a list of all PS Vita launch games in Japan that will in fact need a memory card.
While most titles will be saved to the Vita card that contains the full game, there are a handful that will not. The list is below.
@Field
Uncharted: Golden Abyss
Zero Dream Club
Disgaea 3: Absense of Detention
Everybody’s Golf 6
Monster Radar
Ridge Racer
This is not good news because the Vita uses Sony’s proprietary memory format. That means these memory cards are going to be expensive. We can only assume launch titles for the West will meet the same requirements. I bet that $250 bargain isn’t look so cheap after all huh?
