While it doesn’t come with any kind of special PS3, or even a lightning bolt sticker to customize the standard 160gb black system included, it could definitely be perfect for any Harry Potter series fan. That’s because you not only get a Blu-ray copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, which can be watched in 2D or 3D, but also download codes for Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Since it’s a 160gb system, you’ll have plenty of room for both movies, but you will need a strong and steady internet connection to download them. Also, the bundle as a 30 day PlayStation Plus subscription card.
Sony didn’t mention any specific launch date, but has said that this Harry Potter 3D Experience Movie Pack PS3 will be available for holiday wishlists. Also, Amazon even has a listing for it, though at 11:30am CST on November 15, 2011 it said the bundle is currently unavailable. Still, when Amazon and other stores do get it, it will be $249.99.
As promising as this bundle sounds, I say wait for Black Friday and go for that $199.99 PS3 holiday bundle with a 160gb system, LittleBigPlanet 2 and Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One. I think you’ll be glad you did. Especially since LittleBigPlanet 2 is the game that keeps on giving and that bundle also includes a 30 day PSN+ membership. Besides, it’s a lot cheaper and I’m sure you could pick up a standard DVD copy of the last Harry Potter movie for under $19.
