I bet you thought Batman’s work was done after Batman: Arkham City. That once that game’s main storyline ended, all the major bad guys just disappeared and everything was peaceful once again. Well, it doesn’t work like that. Which is why a game like Batman: Arkham City Lockdown exists. Batman has been called upon to fight some of Gotham City’s worst bad-guys.
Batman: Arkham City Lockdown is an iOS exclusive and is focused more on hand-to-hand combat with famous Batman villains. So don’t expect lots of exploration or side-quests, like you saw in the full Batman: Arkham City game. No, this $5.99 focuses on just fighting characters like the Joker, Two-Face and Deathstroke. That, and upgrading Batman because of those fights so he can be even more effective in future battles.
Just like the real Batman: Arkham City, Batman: Arkham City Lockdown has DLC. In-app purchases, if you really want to be exact. You can purchase additional character skins for 99¢. You can also purchase WayneTech Credit for real cash instead of earning it by playing, so you can update and improve Batman quicker and have an easier time fighting through mobs of baddies.
I’ve got to say, it looks pretty impressive for an iOS game in the assorted screenshots. Very pretty and Batman looks pretty close to his console counterpart in terms of detail. $5.99 seems like a bit of a steep price for it though, but I’m sure real Batman fans won’t mind paying a little more for another one of his adventures.
