Humble Indie Bundle 4Today is an absolutely momentous day for Windows, Mac and Linux gamers. Today is a day that will live in indie game infamy, as it marks the unveiling of the best Humble Indie Bundle ever. It has been called the Humble Indie Bundle 4 and, even though it has only just went live, it already contains seven of the most awesome and epic indie PC games you will ever want to buy. Seriously, it’s fantabulous.

You have the opportunity to get seven great Windows, Mac and Linux games with the Humble Indie Bundle 4. If you pay less than the current average, you get five games. If you pay more, you get seven. The five base games are Bit.Trip Runner, Jamestown, NightSky, Shank and Super Meat Boy. That also includes the Super Meat Boy level editor, naturally. Now, one of those alone would easily be worth the average price, which was $4.60 at 1pm CST on December 13, 2011. If you go over that price though, Cave Story+ and Gratuitous Space Battles are both added to your bundle. Of course, you’ll also get a multiplayer code for Gratuitous Space Battles. Aside from being a great deal, this bundle marks some special occasions for each game included. This is the first time Super Meat Boy, Jamestown, NightSky, Cave Story+ and Gratuitous Space Battles are available for Linux. As for Shank, it’s the first time it has been released for both Mac and Linux.

Here’s a brief trailer that shows snippets of the seven games you get in the Humble Indie Bundle 4.

You also get Steam codes for all of the games.

The Humble Indie Bundle 4 will be around for 14 more days and, as usual, you decide who gets your money. You can have it go to charity (Child’s Play and American Red Cross), the developers or the Humble Bundle people. So you have until December 27, 2011 to get in on this and enhance your holiday season. I’d recommend joining the party sooner, rather than later, because that average price is only going to go up and then you’ll need to pay even more to get Cave Story+ and Gratuitous Space Battles thrown in to your bundle. Besides, I wouldn’t be surprised if even more games eventually get added to the deal. And remember, you can also gift the Humble Indie Bundle to people! This would make a fantastic present for someone.
