Bejeweled is already responsible for turning hard working citizens into unproductive lumps by having a presence on mobile devices and on PC, but now it has moved to a place where we can’t possibly escape from it – the web browser. Shortly after the release of Bastion on Google Chrome, PopCap has made Bejeweled a Google Chrome app as well.
Bejeweled for Google Chrome borrows some elements from Bejeweled 3, but not all of them. This game is free after all. It was also created using HTML5, which is well on its way to becoming the new web standard to replace Flash due to its compatibility with mobile devices. Adobe isn’t really interested in Flash anymore, so HTML5 is pretty much running uncontested.
You can choose to play either the Classic or Speed modes in either standard definition or high definition. The speed mode gives you 60 seconds to match as many gems as you can. It’s plays like Bejeweled Blitz, but without the coins.
Bejeweled also looks quite good. This is especially true when the diamond comes toward the screen after completing a level. The music is also well done. You should definitely check it out.
