Angry Birds Christmas Angry Birds has been just about everywhere it seems. We’ve seen it on iOS, Android, Google Chrome and on packages of Wonderful Pistachios. The BlackBerry PlayBook is one of the only places we haven’t seen Angry Birds. That all changes now. PlayBook owners can now proudly download Angry Birds, Angry Birds Rio and Angry Birds Seasons from BlackBerry App World right now for $4.99 each.

We know $4.99 seems a little steep for Angry Birds. After all, we are used to seeing it for $0.99. The price is likely so high because these versions of Angry Birds are in HD. The HD iPad version of Angry Birds is also $4.99.

What does this mean for the BlackBerry PlayBook platform? Probably not much. There’s no way Angry Birds will be the savior of the PlayBook even though it’s sure to be one of the most popular PlayBook apps as time goes on. The fact is Rovio clearly wants to plaster Angry Birds on as many products as humanly possible. I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw Angry Birds-branded mouth wash eventually. Other developers are abandoning the BlackBerry platform for iOS, Android and Windows Phone. Without dedicated developers, an app platform is doomed.
