Gameloft, the developer of games other companies have already developed, is ringing in the new year with a big Android sale. Gameloft will cut the price of all its Android offerings to $0.99 starting on December 29. It’ll last until January 5, 2012.

Gameloft is known for taking ideas from existing franchises and capitalizing on its popularity. The Modern Combat franchise is heavily inspired by Modern Warfare, BackStab is a play on Assassin’s Creed and Shadow Guardian has Uncharted written over it. Be that as it may, some of Gameloft’s games aren’t bad. Yes you may feel a little sleazy buying them, but it can be much worse.

It’s important to know that not all of Gameloft’s titles are available for every Android phone. Some games won’t be compatible with your device even though it may be more than capable of running any other game. That’s just the way Gameloft rolls for some reason. Also, these games tend to be pretty big. Make sure you have a microSD card with at least 8GB of storage if you’re going to buy multiple games.
